Importing from China to Egypt
China is one of Egypt's largest trading partners. Successful importing starts long before the order: with the right registrations, verified suppliers and written specifications.
Key stages
- Check your status: importer register and any product-specific approvals or factory registration.
- Find and compare suppliers; request licences and certificates.
- Negotiate specifications, payment and delivery terms in writing.
- Order samples and approve one as the reference.
- Inspect production before shipping, then ship, pre-register via ACI and clear customs.
Common mistakes
Verbal agreements on specifications, skipping samples, and shipping before the ACI reference is issued. All three are avoidable.
Where Wang Fu helps
We translate messages, specifications and contracts, interpret negotiation calls in Chinese and introduce licensed customs brokers. We do not buy goods or hold payments on your behalf.
Writing specifications suppliers can follow
List dimensions, weights and materials with tolerances, use colour codes rather than descriptions, define packaging and labelling (including Arabic labels if needed), name required tests or certificates, and state what counts as a defect. Send the specification in Chinese as well as English; the factory floor reads Chinese. Keep the approved sample and reference it in the contract.
Golden rules when dealing with China
- Never rely on verbal agreements.
- Start with a sample or small order.
- Do not pay personal accounts without verification.
- Make sure ACI pre-registration is done before goods leave China.
- Translate specifications and contracts precisely; it prevents bigger disputes later.
How we work
